How online surveys work

It's really easy. You sign in a survey company website, totally free. Then, when there is a survey available for you, they send you a link by e-mail to take the survey online. After qualifying and completing the survey, you'll get a reward mostly in terms of cash or points (which can be traded later for cash or gifts). All within the comfort of your home. Simple enough? You bet!

There are some minimal requirements you need to have in order to start:

  • Being human.
  • Have a computer with an Internet connection.
  • Have an e-mail address.

So, if you're reading this page, we're sure that you got the first two requirements already ;)

Being human

No, we are not kidding. Survey and research companies are looking for all kinds of persons. It doesn't matter if you're male or female, young or... not so young, Caucasian or Hispanic, you're a valuable target market. And as such, these companies want to know your opinion about a lot of different things: cars, gas, insurance, food, beer, movies, video games, clothes, and everything else! Just one thing, you have to be at least 18 years old, or have your parents' permission.

Have a computer with an Internet connection

All surveys will be taken online, so you need a computer with an Internet connection. You can use whatever browser you want, including Firefox (our personal favorite). Be sure to have Flash installed because some surveys may need it. Is this getting too technical? Okay, if you can see the "SurveyAdvice.com" text below, everything is fine. If not, visit the Flash installation page and follow the instructions.

Have an e-mail address

You'll get invitations to take the surveys by e-mail. Our advice is to have one e-mail address especially for survey invitations. You can get a free e-mail account in Gmail, Yahoo, AOL or Hotmail, big enough to store all the invitations you're going to get, if you join several survey companies that is.

Are you curious what you should do next? Just check the survey company reviews, and sign in their websites. They'll take you from there.
